It is a painless infection of the tissues that surround the teeth and is caused by plaque buildup on the teeth both above and below the gum line. Some symptoms are gums that bleed during and after tooth brushing, red swollen or tender gums, persistent bad breath or bad taste in mouth, receding gums, deep pockets between teeth and gums, loose or shifting teeth, or changes in way teeth fit together upon biting down.<\/p><p>Together our doctors and dental hygienists bring over 30 years of combined experience in dealing with gum disease in its early, reversible stages (gingivitis) and more serious later stages (periodontitis).
